tappeto magico
The carpet defines a space and is the first form of home.
The relationship and interaction with the architecture and space of the Druso barracks - so symbolic and painful, harking back to the dramatic history of the people of the South Tyrol - allowed me to confront history.
In the materials I found that sense of belonging that I was looking for. The "magic carpet" was made from larch boards from a 14th-century barn. The planks, arranged like a platform, created my foundation. I used lime as the color, reviving an old technique used in the peasant world to disinfect barns.
